Grinder was the last of the songs to be finished. The only song in a compound meter, it was inspired by several songs, including Depeche Mode's "Corrupt" and Skinny Puppy's "Assimilate."

The bass sound is the DSI Prophet 12...an original patch. The VFX and M1 feature prominently in the melodic aspects of the song. It also uses a lot of sequenced patches in plugins like the Arturia Arp and Minimoog apps.
