Thermal is the first single from Superconductor. Its title comes from one of the patches I used on my DSI Prophet 12, but as the song developed it began to remind me of the glider sequence in the 1999 remake of the Thomas Crown Affair, where Pierce Brosnan guides first-time pilot Rene Russo toward the updraft that will provide them with more energy and lift.

The combination of the slow harmonic rhythm, fast arpeggios, and turbulent drum part matched those images well for me.
